Providing a Jewish Education: The Scholarship Breakfast and Campaign

Dear RPRY Community,

We are in the midst of our Chanukah celebrations here at RPRY and the building has been abuzz with excitement, joy and laughter.

We are also eagerly anticipating the annual Toby Mayer Memorial Scholarship Breakfast, which makes all of this possible. Next Sunday, December 24, we will get together for the Yeshiva’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Being able to provide an education for every Jewish child is a core part of the mission of RPRY. Receiving a Jewish education is a gift, but it is also a right. As a community, we have a responsibility to see to it that every child can attend yeshiva, regardless of the financial means of his or her parents.

RPRY provides almost 1.3 million dollars in scholarships each year. The process is intensive: in a very confidential and sensitive way, the scholarship committee analyzes each case and awards financial aid dollars to families who truly need it. I am very proud that our Yeshiva provides the funds necessary for every student to get a Jewish education, and I am proud to personally support our Scholarship Campaign so that we can continue to do so.

Our fundraising has not approached the level of covering the financial aid that we award, and so we are increasing our effort. Because of the generous support of Susan and Moish Wiesel and Rachelle and Zev Stern, the cost of the breakfast is covered and every dollar that we raise goes directly to scholarships. This year, we have a match for every new dollar raised, which further leverages your gift to our campaign. Please join us on December 24 and give generously to support our Yeshiva’s commitment to the children of our community.
