These photos were taken of the second graders during ART CLASS, with their Turtle Painting/Collage Projects.  What a GREAT job they did!!
Week 1: They made a symmetrical collage of their turtle.  Week 2: They traced their turtles and painted a patterned border design.  Week 3:  They glued down their turtles and added cray-pas details to their designs.

Third Graders had a lot of fun creating these Radial Balance Symmetrical designs.  This was a stamping project.  Mrs. Phillips brought in her collection of self-made stampers and the children discovered many ways of combining the shapes into neat symmetrical designs, working from the center outward.  Week 1:  Stamping with paints.  Week 2:  Embellishing with cray-pas.

These are First Graders displaying their OWL creations, which have flapping wings, created by the paper fasteners (the eyes) and string in the back.

5th Grade Girls were working on their cardboard relief "sculptures".  They built up their designs/pictures with corrugated cardboard.  The following weeks, they painted them with acrylic and metallic paints.
