Dear RPRY Faculty & Staff,
The RPRY PTA strongly believes in supporting our teachers’ professional growth and development. We know that time spent networking with other teachers and learning about the most current practices in teaching not only benefits our students, but fulfills a teacher’s natural desire to keep growing as a learner in order to stay fresh and energized and excited about the challenging tasks that are presented before you in the classroom every day. To this end, we are extremely pleased to announce the creation of the RPRY PTA Teacher Professional Development Fund just in time for the 2009-2010 school year.
The RPRY PTA Teacher Professional Development Fund will provide funding opportunities for teachers wishing to continue their professional education outside of RPRY. All teaching staff are eligible to apply for these funds; funds may be used for professional workshops, conferences, seminars, etc. that you feel will most benefit your students and enrich your teaching.
To apply for funding, please follow these simple steps:
Fill out the application form at least 30 days prior to the date of the workshop (forms are available by clicking here).
- Attach a photocopy of the registration information to the form.
- Submit in a sealed envelope to the PTA mailbox.
- You will receive a response to your application within 2 weeks of submission.
- If approved for funding, you will receive reimbursement once proof of attendance has been submitted to the PTA mailbox upon your return (photocopy of certificate of attendance required; if not available, photocopy of cashed check or credit card statement will be accepted). Fees will not be paid in advance of attendance.
- Reimbursements will be distributed within 2 weeks after proof of attendance has been submitted.
Funds are limited but we are hopeful that we will be able to provide support to as many teachers as we possibly can over the course of the school year. Again, the RPRY PTA is thrilled to be able to provide this level of support to our faculty and staff and hope that many of you take advantage of this opportunity.
